How to make rooster spur covers with wood

Small children in the mix, you basically need to remove the rooster from access to the kids.

his own pen, a new home, freezer camp.

Young kids are at the right height to get eye and face injuries. And kids, in general, don’t pay attention to their surroundings all the time, unless they have a fear. I've met several people that have a strong dislike or fear of birds and/or chickens and the common thread seems to be some kind of experience with a rooster.

You can do a number of things to keep him and keep kids safe. You could also come to the realization that there are many good roosters out there that don’t have aggressive tendencies to the point of attacking the humans.

caveat: I don't have chickens and am a member here bc I want to learn IF I do want them.

has anyone here ever used nail caps on roosters?

Welcome!
Spurs are nothing like cat nails, and even small bantam roosters have heavier spurs. Their spurs grow longer every year, and have to be trimmed if they interfere with their ability to walk comfortably.
If the rooster is human aggressive, trimming his spurs isn't enough, because he can still cause injuries without them, with his nails and beak.
Generally it's easiest to cut them short with a dog nail trimmer, or for a big bird, with a Dremel.

so how are they different? After dremeling...nail caps aren't heavy enough? or ....? I've seen them used on raptors so...? and they make dog nail caps too, which would have to be heavier.
