I have 12 ducks, 9 of which are bantams and 3 of which are normal sized ducks. The bantams have not yet let me figure out their genders, but in my flock of big ducks I have 2 boys and one girl. Bad flock dynamics. I can't bear to part with any of them, and my lot is at its max in birds. I have decided to let chauncy (the girl) live with the bantams (who are still much younger than her, so this will wait another month or so) and let the big boys live alone in their own seperate bachelor pad. They will be able to see Chauncy and the others when supervised, but not live together. Is there any way I can prepare them for this to make it less hard on them? I feel awful about separating them, they have been raised together since day one. What can I do to make this easier for them?
