How to make your turkeys have small rounded snoods

Has anyone here really had any problems with Injury's to Toms Snoods that would be a serious health problem.
The original Poster stated they did not like the looks of the long snood I don't want to offend anyone or upset anyone ether but isn't the snood part of the Toms allure to the Hen.
You reduce or take away the snood and that's taking away the Toms Bling isn't it

.
But of course there is always selective breeding if the Hens will have anything to do with the Toms with no Bling.

I am no long time turkey grower by any means so far the only Snood problem I had was hand feeding some old hot dogs to them one day and a Tom and Hen side buy side were gobbling down the hot dogs and the Hen got carried away and swallowed the Toms Snood for a moment they were connected till the Tom pulled away

no Injury's to the snood and they went back to gobbling down the hand fed hot dogs.
I had to feed the Hot Dogs to the Turkeys and Chickens because at first throwing the foot long dogs out for them to eat did not look right as they ran around playing keep away from each other seeing those weenies swinging in the air in there beaks did not look right and plus with no hands they had problems tearing the weenies apart to eat them.

Hey I have a Self Blue Tom that has a short fat round snood. He stuck his head through a chain link fence and another Tom took it off for him. He still does fine with the ladies but I think he looks funny when all the other Toms are strutting with their snoods hanging down and his only comes to his chin!

A tom's snood reminds me exactly of one thing... A human penis. When they're out there strutting around acting like the big man on campus, it's long and colorful (ok, so a penis isn't colorful, unless of course they've got it tattooed to look like a dragon or something, lol), when you pick them up and ruin their groove, it shrinks all up into a nubbin. Give them a neck rub and out it comes again, lol. Our big tom doesn't seem to have any issues with his snood. I've noticed a few scratches on his neck nubbins (his neck testicles, as I call them), but never any damage or injuries to his snood. At first, I had always hated the look of turkeys (how UGLY ARE THOSE THINGS?!) but once you raise them, you come to love the ugliness and start to see the beauty in them. Again, similar to men... You can find an absolutely gorgeous looking dude, but if he's got an ugly personality, you slowly start to see the ugly on the outside of them as well, and some guys, who maybe aren't a Brad Pitt look-alike, you start to find attractive if they have a beautiful personality.

I guess I compare my birds to people a lot, lol.

The White Turkey is a 1 year old mature tom who HASN'T gotten his snood clipped. It's just always been that way. I see some individuals tom turkeys who just have short snoods. I think its a genetic flaw, But it that's what your looking for, With a little searching your bound to find one. I personally like toms with more developed snoods, it makes them look more turkyish, lol. Plus the hens like them more that way.
