How to open a quails mouth

So I have to give my pet quail some medicine every 12 hours through her mouth, problem is I can’t get her to open her mouth so um, how do I do that?

I heard you need to hold the sides of the beak/ nostrils

Not that easy with a quail. Better to put the eye dropper on the side of the beak and let them take the medication that way. It's also better to use a small syringe...smaller drop.

It was pretty hard opening my quails beak to give her that medicine and I really just couldn’t get it open long enough to put the syringe in so I just put it on some kale and she ate it and is acting how she did when the vet gave it to her so I’m assuming putting her medicine on kale works
