Hi, I have a puppy. She is 4 months old and 3/4 Chihuahua and 1/4 Pomeranian. She however is not potty trained. She poops and pees all around the house and it’s starting to be a big problem. After all her vaccinations, we took her outside to try and get her to pee or poop. She didn’t. Then she would poop or pee somewhere in the house. We stopped using training pads because they made her think that any cloth was a training pad. So, please help if you have advice or tips. Thanks in advance.

My first tip is patience. She might have too much freedom in the house for her age. You might crate her when you can't suoervise. There is a method of training where you attach a leash to her and yourself so she can't potty without you knowing. Little dogs are stubborn!! You have to out wait them when you take them outside. It also helps to use a schedule so they get used.to when to potty. We still have to lock our one year dobe in a run sometimes s she'll have a bm outside instead of on the carpet. She's a sneaky little b and the hardest to train of any dog we've had. Good luck and I really recommend the Bissell crosswave pet for removing odor from where she's already gone!

Whenever she has accidents in the house or you see her about to pee or poop somewhere bring her outside right away to finish up this worked for both my dogs, or the way some people do it is have them sit in their 20 minutes after eating then bringing them outside until they go, I hope this helps! Congrats on the puppy by the way what a cutie!!!

Thanks for the tip! She rarely goes to the bathroom outside. She just likes to run around and play. When she goes to the bathroom outside, I reward her. She doesn’t seem to get though. I will try to keep her out longer.

Thanks for the reply! I will try to put her outside as fast as I can when she pees or poops. But, she is very fast. It’s hard to catch her. Also, thanks she is a cute puppy.

Crate train her firstly. Do not allow her free run in the house. If she isn't in the crate, then keep her on a leash with you at all times and watch her. If you see her looking like she is going to go, pick her up and carry her outside. Take her to one spot and put her down still on leash. Yes, you need to stand there like an idiot until she goes. No playing and no running around. She is out there to do one thing only. After several minutes of you saying something over and over like "Go potty" and nothing, back in the house and back in the crate. Try again later. When she does go, make a big deal about it and give her a treat. Then maybe playtime in the yard but not before. Small dogs are especially tough to housebreak. Everywhere that she has had an accident, soak down with Natures Miracle and let dry.
