Maybe a neat idea but for me i think I will pass. Spoiled eggs can and would be life threatening, not worth the unnecessary risk for me. Russian roulette with eggs.

Interesting video and method, which sounds very effective.
My concern would be having slaked lime (which indeed is "pickling lime") around children or handling it too much, or breathing it.
It is a known caustic material and can cause lung, skin, and eye irritation...severe in prolonged exposure.
