How to Prevent a Weasel from Killing Chickens

A weasel has been spotted way out back, according to my neighbor. I am worried sick about my chickens. I have several outdoor cats. Do you think they will scare away weasels, or do I need to get a pellet gun or trap? What would you suggest?
