How To Prevent My Ducks From Egg Binding?

While taking care of my ducks today, I noticed an egg in the middle of the duck yard and when I picked it up, it was completely soft. That really worried me.

Is there anything I can do to prevent my ladies from egg binding? I’m not entirely sure why the egg was so soft.. But is there something they’re lacking that I should be providing them?

I don’t know!!! Can anyone who has some experience or knows about this give me some advice?

Are your ducks new layers? Mine just started laying a few weeks ago and still lay soft-shelled eggs now and then. Sounds like this is normal for new layers as their bodies adjust. Make sure they're on layer feed and have access to oyster shells

Yes! After doing so more research on soft eggs, that’s what it is. I just have a new layer in the mix. Thank you!
