While taking care of my ducks today, I noticed an egg in the middle of the duck yard and when I picked it up, it was completely soft. That really worried me.

Is there anything I can do to prevent my ladies from egg binding? I’m not entirely sure why the egg was so soft.. But is there something they’re lacking that I should be providing them?

I don’t know!!! Can anyone who has some experience or knows about this give me some advice?

Thank you!!!!

Are your ducks new layers? Mine just started laying a few weeks ago and still lay soft-shelled eggs now and then. Sounds like this is normal for new layers as their bodies adjust. Make sure they're on layer feed and have access to oyster shells :)

Yes! After doing so more research on soft eggs, that’s what it is. I just have a new layer in the mix. :) Thank you!
