How do u put silkie eggs in an incubator made for medium sized eggs. Also could anybody explain the incubation process and what to do once the eggs hatch thanks.

I have only incubated one time before but here’s what I know.

What incubator are you using?

Once an egg is layed it takes usually around 21 days for it to hatch. The eggs need to be hatched at a temperature of 99F Each day the embryo starts to develop more and more. Around day 4 of the incubation process you will notice a little embryo.
To see inside the egg you will want to candle it with a flashlight. To candle just hold the egg to the flashlight in a dark room and look at it you will be able to see the development of the embryo.
You will want to have a brooder set up before your eggs hatch.
After the chicks hatch they will need to sit in the incubator until they dry off then you can transfer them to the brooder you won’t need to feed them for 2 days after they hatch because of the egg yolk stores.

Hopefully someone else comes along with more information for you

Not sure which incubator you are using. I use a Brinsea Mini II and it works great for my silkie eggs. You should candle the eggs at 7 days to check for viability and toss any bad eggs. You should also candle again around day 17 and toss any bad eggs. Lockdown starts on day 18 and that is when you stop turning and need to increase the humidity. The eggs will start hatching between day 19-22 in my experience. Don't open the incubator until they all hatch. Hope this helps.
