If you use hardware cloth around outside your run by 1' what do you do with the other 1'
Do you lay it inside the same way or go up with it along the base of the run? If that makes sense. Need help new at this

I can't use anything PVC coated or toxic, they leach into the soil and I'm organic.

You do know that galvanized can leach zinc into soil?
Stn Stl mesh is available.....yes, price of gold..... well, price of stn stl, not sure which is higher. Predator proofing is not cheap.

Good examples or anti dig aprons, tho I'd not recommend 1/2" HC...go with 14ga 1x2 or 1x1, will hold up much longer and is easier to lay flat.

Thanks so much! I'll have to price it out but it might be worth it just to prevent the rust at least on the hardware cloth if it's 2 or 3 times more expensive still could be worth it not to have to rebuild over and over? I worry about rust weakening it as well.. Do you use the same hardware cloth and if so can you please tell me how long it has lasted without rusting? Thanks again

you should check We just finished our coop and put the 1/2 inch hardware cloth up to the coop which is raised and two feet down and out on an angle, then over that is 1 inch hardware cloth for he bigger predators. Around the coop on the ground we're putting the left over 1 inch and some larger metal fencing flat and covered with dirt and rocks to help some more - then we pray - you do the best you can and be vigilant checking all four sides every day. the run is covered and has two layers of the 1/2 inch under the 1 inch. Amazon was so much cheaper than local stores and in bigger quantities.

I bought the 2x4" x6' field fencing at "farm and fleet" and "Big R" they have it on sale every so often
The hardware cloth is cheaper online usually.. Amazon has it but the price bounces around from $60 something to $80 something .. so if it's high wait if you can .. right now it's $74 for a 4' x50' roll
