How to sanitize

Any age is fine. I also suggest putting DE in their food.
No ma'am. DE will not get rid of worms. Taking fresh poop to a vet to find out what kind of worms they have is best. If not safeguard is a good worker for a variety of different worms if you use the correct dosage amounts for the correct length of time.

Hi everyone! I'm a new member but have been browsing the forum for at least a year in preparation for getting chickens. We finished our coop in March and got babies. Things were great until the past few weeks... I noticed one of my cream legbar hens wasn't growing like her sisters. She would sleep a lot more than the others as well. I took her to my vet and he couldn't really find anything wrong with her but put her on an antibiotic and gave her a steroid shot. She passed away this morning and while no one else seems sick, I'm really concerned since I don't know what happened. I have Oxine and a fogger which I plan on using this afternoon. Their coop has sand in it and I clean it out daily as well as the roost. Is there anything else I can do? Any tips and info would mean the world to me!
You will never be able to completely sanitize any area chickens live. Did the vet test her poop for Cocci? Are any of your chickens showing any symptoms? Have you checks the birds at night with a flash light for mites? Mites live in the cracks of a coop and only come on the birds at night to suck the life out of them. What do you feed your flock on a daily basis?

He did check her for it... all of the other chickens seem great. My vet was pretty stumped too... I haven't checked them for mites. I will definitely do that tonight. Will they be easy to see? They have Purina chick starter 24/7... I give them fresh vegetables from the garden daily and let them out in the garden for 3-4 hours every afternoon...

Could the one that passed been "bullied" and not have been eating as much? She could have just been a chick that wasn't meant to be. A failure to survive.

If you had their poop checked and their was not worms do not give them medicine for worms for no reason....if u do when u actually get worms it won't be as efficient
