Hi everyone! I'm a new member but have been browsing the forum for at least a year in preparation for getting chickens. We finished our coop in March and got babies. Things were great until the past few weeks... I noticed one of my cream legbar hens wasn't growing like her sisters. She would sleep a lot more than the others as well. I took her to my vet and he couldn't really find anything wrong with her but put her on an antibiotic and gave her a steroid shot. She passed away this morning and while no one else seems sick, I'm really concerned since I don't know what happened. I have Oxine and a fogger which I plan on using this afternoon. Their coop has sand in it and I clean it out daily as well as the roost. Is there anything else I can do? Any tips and info would mean the world to me!

That is really good that you clean out your coop daily, Sorry to hear about your loss! Did the vet check her for worms? One of my chickens died from worms, and she had the same symptoms that yours had.

He did! I took her back less than a week ago to be checked again because I've been so worried About her.... she just never seemed to want to do anything but sleep...

How old are your chickens? Was she going in the coop a lot? If she was she might of been eggbound. I think it was either that or worms

They were hatched on April 3, so just shy of four months... she was SO tiny... Literally half the size of her sisters...

I made sure she ate... and I'm always at the barn around them... and I never saw anyone pick on her... just doesn't make sense
