How to save a starving gosling?

I will post pictures as soon as I can get my hands on a camera that works.

It makes me sad to think about how many times this might have happened before without anyone noticing. I would report the place, but then I wouldn't be able to in to check on the welfare of their chicks and ducks and geese. I might just ask one of our animal control officers to take an "unofficial" look at the place.

I agree with you, interestingly we should treat all forms of life with dignity...yet people, like the ones at the store where he found the little gosling, don't seem to comprehend the term Dignity. What a shame and I am so pleased the little guy/girl is doing so well. Again, great save!

* Don't now much about geese, but we used to tear up small bits of grainy wheat bread and toss it to them on the lagoon, and scratch on the banks in the very shallow water and squished snails, too.

Thanks to everyone who helped me save this little baby I named Freebie (for stolen). S/he started eating on its own, and trying to stand, and said a good "wack-wack." I hated to have to give it up, but it is in a good home with a rehabber who also keeps geese. She and her daughter were both looking forward to caring for Freebie, and there was no way I could keep him/her. Thank you again.

And, per your advice, I am reporting the feed store for animal neglect and animal cruelty. This shouldn't have happened, and I don't want it to happen again.

That little baby looks just like my Brecon Buff goose. I have a pic of her when she was little somewhere around here. I will post it if I can find it. They make wonderful pets. Mine loves my son and all of our family. Most people are scared of her lol but she is more friendly than our dog!!!
