How to save money on your electric bill?

ok thanks. We turned off the garage since we never go in there. I just think the problem is the wire thats grounded to the meter as it looks really old and looks like it could fall off anytime. I dont want to ttouch anything and hope that it is the ground wire. We are calling tomorrow morning to have someone check it out. I will check out how many KHW we are using and see. I know last time the bill looked fishy and the guy was estimating it after all. He must be scared of the guard dogs? They are in the house and cant get out.

sorry for all the typos. my keyboard has a loose wire

Well my mom said we are getting the meter and ground wire replaced. The disk speeds up and slows down every 5 minutes so it has to be a short. maybe do to a lightning storm?

Well I got the best news. My mother said this wont affect hatching eggs so I can still order

Y'all don't have those digital meters? Our electric company installed those last year. The "meter reader" just drives by and points a thing at the house and it tell him what the meter says. It seems a little off to me though that he can use the meter reader thing from the road and our house has 2 acres of trees between the road and our house. Our house is over 200 feet from the road...

Everyone's bills doubled after they installed the new meters and people complained so that's why my electric company offers the payment plan based on your average bills.

My bills with the old meter were about $40-$50 in the winter and close to $100 in the summer. Now with the plan it's just $77 a month year round.

We dont have the digital. We have the one that has the 4 hands and the disk that spins. I wonder if we could get a payment plan. I just want them to check the wire first before installing as there could be some power surges.

Wow that is crazy to pay every month.
I knew I wasn't paying much per month but wow.We have all energy friendly appliances and lighting and by bill last month was $32.45.It never goes above $40 and in the summer sometimes down to $25 because we are always outside.

Good luck paying your bills,
Ed
