I installed the lock so it catches the door a smidge so you have to grab a zip tie I’m using as a handle and really tug it to get the door to open. I ordered stainless steel zip ties online today...

1/4” hardware cloth, which has become problematic because instead of falling through, the rain and snow accumulate, freeze, and are causing sagging and breaches between the sheets of hardware cloth. We are in process of adding more support, and I did a thorough zip tie check and replace today. Suggestions? It’s drivin me mad!

Yeah, snow will stick even to my 2x4 mesh roof if conditions are right.
Need a way to clear snow if it builds up too high.
I can bang mine loose from underneath, but don't think that will work with HC.

Maybe put up some horizontal supports along 'breaches' and attach the HC to them.
Hard to say as I can't see the whole coop and run...there might be a better solution, if not now then later(spring).

To fill a small gap I had with gate I left exposed hardware cloth and sure as poop when they tried to get in, it shredded them up or at least I think it did by the blood left behind.

I am considering the same thing, and place they nigh pull it open leave dagger sharp edges

Thanks! It’s a real feel of -2 here so the predators are getting desperate, I feel lucky to have seen the tracks.

I thought raccoons hibernated. I'll have to google that but I normally don't worry about raccoons after November.

They can sleep for long periods but don’t hibernate; and I have fresh coon tracks surrounding my coop!
