How to sex 6 week olds

I can feel the stares already at such a silly question....

I think you are supposed to look at the vent for a bump, but is this possible in a 6 week old?

I checked the legs of some for spurs, but ones I thought might be cockerels had the same bumps where the spurs will be as the ones I thought were pullets.

Is the comb any help at this age (some are elevated, others are not)?
 
Both sexes get bumps on the legs...they can only be vent checked at a day or two old....at this point you will have to wait until you can tell by the way they look or for some of them to start laying/crowing.
 
Combs/wattles and feathers seem to be easier.

At 6 weeks roos should be starting to get pinkish then red combs and wattles. At least in most of the breeds. Usually the pullets do not turn red until close to time for them to lay. If you post pictures I am sure you will have some guesses.
