How to sex a chick using a pencil

Foolproof method of sexing chicks:

1. Place a TV remote control in the pen.

2. Carefully observe which chicks are attracted to it

The chicks that are totally attracted to the remote will be the males. The ones that stay away and chirp and complain about the males dominance are the females. Works every time!

This is just as accurate as the pencil/needle method, which is a scam.

I posted a thread about this back at the end of October. I had 10 bantam cochins and 14 packing peanuts, and tested them with a needle and thread. The packing peanuts all tested as males (no surprise there) and the cochins tested as 5 males and 5 females.

Now they're 7 weeks old, and I can't tell which one is which. I took pictures of them and marked the pictures as to what gender they tested, and thought I'd be able to tell by beak spots. Beak spots have now changed, and I mostly can't tell who's who. There are 4 that I can still match to their baby pictures.

I do know, however, that I have 5 males and 5 females, agreeing with the original pendulum test. The packing peanuts are definitely all males. Of the 4 that I can still match to baby pictures, 2 are correctly guessed, and 2 are wrong. I have one that I thought would be female, and it's a male, and one that I thought was a male is not.

So this is not 100% accurate. I know that at least 2 out of the 10 were wrong.

Here's my post from October.

i can tell using a pencil,,,,,,, give the chick the pencil and a job application,,, ask him to fill it out,,, then look for which box it marks under "gender"

It is not all myth.. I can locate buried electric cable routes with two L shaped pieces of wire..

as long as the wires are carrying electricity..(live)

it gives off a magnetic field that can be picked up by the wire..

you can test this on overhead electric wires..

flowing water underground gives of a similar magnetic field.. that is what water witches pick up..

I might try the pencil trick on my 8 turkey keets, about 1 to 2 weeks old..

I like the TV remote test..

I can go into a long explanation if you like.. I merely said it was similar to keep it short and simple.

dragging your feet across a carpet can create quite a shock.. but your feet nor the carpet are electrical..

once again , oversimplified..
