I just got two ducks, a Peking duck female named Priscilla and a male Muscovy duck named Elvis. Since then, Elvis has bit my German shepherd puppy, cat, and fights with my rooster and chickens. He also bit one of my friends. The lady I got them from said he would wait one the driveway to attack her when she got home, and when she got him Priscilla to keep him company, he got calmer . Is there any way to stop him?

Well, in my experience Muscovy drakes are pretty single minded, and apparently he has gotten away with this behavior for some time. My gut says the only surefire cure is to pen him up. A Muscovy drake is fully capable of killing a rooster and hens - been there, done that long ago.

Keep him where he can’t get to the animals or people. And when you go into his pen And he comes at you to bite put something between you and him a broom a bucket etc. even push him away with the broom if he still comes at ya. If these techniques don’t work then you’ll need to flatten him out on his belly when he bites. One hand behind the neck the other at the base of where his tail and body meet. You can also get over top and straddle him just keep in mind your not in the least hurting him your holding him down till he quits fighting to get up. Being consistent is the key.

You've been given all good advice already. My only remaining Muscovies are drakes and i can certainly tell you no one behaves that way, as said he has gotten away with it for sure.

I have zero tolerance for that, scovie drakes are big and very capable of hurting someone or other animals if the chose too. I hold title of "top dog"(er drake lol) here period.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice! I will certainly try that. He almost killed a hen the other day, just jumped on her and bit her neck until it drew blood. He is separated and (lol) I am using an umbrella to keep him away when I feed him. Thank you all!
