How to stop a rooster from flogging you?!?!

We have all been there, and we all hate it, but is there a way to stop a perfectly good rooster from flogging the crap out of you. Today, three roosters, all three are brothers, tried to flog me even when I faced them. I have a gut feeling that they were bred with not so good quality birds. I hate to do it, but I might have to find a nice stump and a hatchet. Are there any ways to stop this from happening?!?!?!

In my opinion, a "perfectly good rooster" doesn't flog people. I think the hatchet and stump method is perfectly acceptable. There are people who say carrying them around like a football will help, and it may teach them to not flog you. But it does not mean it will keep them from flogging others (think small children here, who could be injured by such behavior.)

Nasty roosters taste great in the crock pot! Only polite cocks get to reproduce in my flock, no exceptions! I've tried the training things, and the weapons, and have figured out that man fighters are idiots who just need to go. It's not sane behavior, IMO. I'm much larger, am not a chicken, and bring food daily. Roosters need to be taking care of their flock and watching out for hawks, not plotting how to take me out! Mary

Rooster stick. It is a broom stick with the broom part removed and replaced by strands of a shredded black plastic bag. Shake it at them, they will think it is a rooster and attack it instead of you.
