how to stop a rooster from spurring

My rooster spurred me this morning for the first time... how do I break him of that before it gets worse... I really like my roo but not enough to keep a mean one

You need to teach him who is the boss. Catch him (if you can), and carry him around tucked under your arm. Do not let him down no matter now hard he struggles. Keep him there until he gives up, he'll hang his head down. Put him down. If he starts to make a ruckus, pick him up again. Keep doing it until he gets the point. That's about the only safe way - the other option is the stew pot

I told my hubby about it and ask his co workers if they wanted him... Im not sure if I could eat him... I have another roo that is layed back... do you think he will be mean if I got rid of this mean rooster?

I will try the method you told me about before I do anything drastic

If you get rid of the alpha roo then you need to keep yourself as alpha roo to the remaining one.
