How to stop chickens from pecking each other?

In my experience the chicken saddles have not worked. I talked to a helpful worker at Tractor Supply, and he said that the best thing to do is to separate them, but if you cannot do that the second best thing is to use the pine tar. He also told me that it will not be poisonous to the chickens in small doses. He also said that I cannot eat the eggs while using the pine tar. I think I will go with the pine tar. Thank you for all of your help.

You can also use Vic's Vapo-Rub. I am using it on my hens and it seems to be working. You can put it on the backs of the hens that are being pecked or you can put it on the noses of the hens that are pecking the others. I hope this helps!
