Are duck eggs any different than chicken eggs. Meaning fainter bulls eye?? My DD and I have a disagreement on whether our duck egg is fertile or not.

If the rooster is doing his stuff to the hen several days before she starts laying. Will those first few eggs be fertile?
How long should it take to be fertile.
