aww shucks, we were going to try and incubate some eggs, but I guess we need to check a few at breakfast and see if any are fertile and then hope the ones we choose are! lol

If you start finding fertile eggs, and you have both a male and a female, chances are high that most if not all eggs wil! Be fertile from that time on, until breeding season starts again...for some breeding season never ends!

Speckled Hen,
Have only had a rooster two weeks and never see him dating my hens. can you look at the pictures and see if I am getting fertile eggs yet?
all photo's same egg, poor camera for close ups. thank you

I'm no expert but what I've read it looks to me like you have a "bullseye" on there

Here are a few pictures from eggs I gathered the 16th. please see what you think as far as fertilization. I cant really tell on these. All of these are the same four eggs.

Can't remember if I posted this question here already or not but does anyone know if duck eggs will also have a "bulls eye" to indicate they are fertile? I hate to waste eggs by putting them in the incubator to see if they develop and then if they don't, having to throw them away.

The lack of focus and the glare makes it hard to tell if it's a bulls eye, the spots look rather large tho...infertile are smaller.
