Good evening. So we have a braisen fox that needs to go ASAP. No one has been hurt yet but keeps going and looking in to the coop every night and into their door. Its like a screen door. What is the best trap to get so we can trap and remove before it gets my flock. TIA

My husband who has been hunting and trapping since a teenager says the best way to trap a fox is with a baited roll of chicken wire and a conibear on the entry ends. Most states have limitations on conibear use. These traps are ment to kill. Does not mater if its a dog, cat, or coon. Whatever it is will be dead. He has also caught them in a dirt hold set.
Your fox is likely feeding her kits, and a a screen door is not much of protection.
I recomend beefing up your set up, coop and run as removing one preditor guarantees another will move into the area.

In the past I have used leg traps but since we have been having so many new people moving into our area and like to let their pets roam now I have been using live traps. I bait the traps for awhile and let them get used to the traps then I set them and then I catch them.
