I have guineas, not chickens. I haven't experienced Bumblefoot, but had quite a few sore feet from an active foot pecker. I started washing their feet w/liquid form coconut oil. It cleans well and easily, dries fast, providing a barrier from the stuff they walk in, and their feet healed quickly. Given that, I wonder if it wouldn't be a good for as well as a preventative for bumblefoot?
My understanding is your chickens are more docile than my guinea keets.I stand them in a puddle of the oil, and then wipe top & bottom w/cotton ball to clean. They don't fight me over standing in it ( being picked up in the first place, yes).

I use some hot water add some Oregano oil ( oregano works for staphylococcus) and some coconut oil or any oil avail
And soak the foot skin become soft and then simply pull it

Once the scab out pour Oral Baytril on wound and apply silver Sulfadiazine Ointment repeat this process in every Bandaging this is my own way treating bumblefoot my boys healed fast

Oh, guineas must be full of personality. Lol. What other bird would have the time and ambition to go around pecking someone else's feet?:lau
