How To Treat Respiratory Infections In Chickens?

I have some confusion over the dust issue, they take dust baths and like ash dust and I use DE which is dusty. When their pen is dry it is super dusty when I move the litter around (deep litter) So since I am totally new to all this hen stuff I need a little help understanding how to keep the hen pen dust free or low dust. I love my hens and are starting to sound funny with their breathing. 2 sound wheezy or heavy breathing
I just use sand in my chicken coop, run and chicken area. I just put on a pair of gloves and take out all there poo pieces that way, so it is clean all the time and not damp or odorous. I use construction sand so it is never super dusty, but chickens do create dust. I would suggest you wear a mask for your own health and do not breathe in the dust which can be very bad for your lungs and cause problems later on.

The diatomaceous earth is bad for your lungs and theirs.
