Applied a liberal coat of Vaseline to bird’s legs and removed zip tie. Will reapply Vaseline on Monday evening.

You’re gonna need to keep doing it through January at least.

You don’t need to do that just wait til later on . It’s definitely going to take awhile.

You’ll realize it’s far easier to prevent all the problems than to treat them once they happen.

I have been remiss in putting Vaseline on Charlotte’s legs but I checked them yesterday and her scales are no longer raised and it seems that they are starting to be replaced by new scales.

Look forward to seeing them. I'm in the process of doing all my birds. I did my silkies a couple of weeks ago then didn't get back until yesterday and even without the very regular treatment they are almost perfect - and they were pretty yuck! I mixed 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil into the big pot of vaseline.

hello after seeing all the photos I realised one of my chickens has got scaly leg mites none of them ever had it before .I,ll treat her with Vaseline tonight ,its all I,ve got but all of you seem to recommend it .don,t know where I can get anything else you mention no chicken vets near me .
