HOW TO TURN THE EGGS

No the instructions are like 5 sentences you can't tilt them n even if I took the tray out I couldn't lay all the eggs down in there because I've got 7 days and this is day 2

You would be surprised how many eggs will fit on their sides
Make an X on one side so you know you turned it
That's what I plan to do when I try incubation.

Ok, I figured it out by looking it up on a different website. I don't know how easy it's gonna be to turn them with all 7 eggs full but you're supposed to tilt the eggs at a 45 degree angle and then manually tilt in the other direction. I do this with my own eggs that are shipped, I just tilt them as far as they can go to one side of the cup, all tilting in the same direction and then switch directions. I do this 5 times a day. Here's the pic and description from another website.

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread. I am day 5 of my 8th hatch and upgrading soon so I'm trying something new with dealing with not having a auto turner. I think there's a risk of opening the incubator repeatedly vs rolling the eggs. I decided this hatch to roll the eggs once a day of full 180. Then I put a book under one side and pull it out as the next roll. And that's it. Will that be enough? Thanks

I own an auto turner and it's sitting in my closet. Lol. I prefer to lay the egg down (local eggs, not shipped) with the old "x" and "o" and hand turn them myself, 5 x day. My hatch rate has improved with this method, I'm hatching 90-100%. I don't think opening the incubator does any harm BUT it does depend on how well your incubator holds temps & humidity and how quickly the temp raises. Mine do both well. Rolling them is fine, as long as they are getting turned 180. 3 x day is good and 5 is even better (if you can).

I have the same incubator that holds 7 eggs, the egg holder, around 2 holes, turned pink...what does that mean?

pink can be a bacteria called carasha it is slimmy and grows in wet humid and warm places it can not be killed with bleach I had a infection of it on myself after a c-section got it from my in-laws bath tube. I can will stain things pink as it is the biproduct of the bacteria you will prob just have to get a new one it is contaminated. I had to threw away all my clothes, pump, and bottles because you can not kill it. It is stronger then MARSA and has a 50% mortality rate in humans YOU CAN CATCH THIS!!!!!!!!

I opened one of the eggs today at 10days because it was not developing and it looked like a normal egg with one very small blood spot on it and a cloudy film

Not alot of change has happened after my son got the eggs out the one with veins no longer has veins and sadly has stoped growning i think it is a gone

RANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 but my holder is all one piece it does not come apart like the one you have pics of early in the thread and my eggs are so large they are touching each other in the holder and touch the glass on the outside no room at all that is why i am asking i can not tilt at all if i could i would have
