I've been using Chlorhexidine for almost a decade and have never diluted it.Shad, that is what I thought, but I was wrong. If you read the directions on the label, it is to be diluted. Hibiclens, which is 4% chlorhexidene, and it is used with a little water to wash hands or body, but must be splashed off. It is different from the oral rinse of 0.12 % that is not diluted. Here is the label instructions for chlorhexidene % for vet or human use:

The spray I have is 10mg/ml. I use this without dilution.
The mouthwash I have, which I've used on chickens when I haven't been able to get anything else is 0.2% by volume. I don't dilute that either.
I got a Chlorhexidine liquid from a vet at 0.4% by volume and was told not to dilute that.
No chickens died from Chlorhexidine poisoning and I haven't died from using the mouthwash either.
