I am wanting to use gentian violet on one of my hens that is displaying candida symptoms. How would I do that in a chicken? Do I have to shove something into her crop to swab? I woul dnot know ho wto do thta. Or can I just add some to her water? SHe is also currently on sulmet b/c I heard that is supposed to help. I don't want to overtax her but gentian violet always worked on my son and I have read tht ais works on chickens also.

I have a rooster I believe to have either a fungal infection or thrush and was wanting to know if you used gentian violet, how you used it and if it worked? I have looked at our local co-op's and they do not have any nystatin or copper sulphate and unfortunately I'm not near any avian vets. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
