How to Vent a Coop in the Winter?

I am so glad you posted those pictures. My husband has been a little upset with all the ventilation ideas I keep throwing at him. It was gonna cause shingles to get ripped up or big holes in the steel siding he just finished. But he says he already has a fan like that and it is completley able to do that. We have a solution. Thank you so much!

The box part is important I think. I cant prove it but I think it allows the fan to build internal pressure in the box which forces air out the pipe. If I did anythign different I might make the box longer. It might allow more pressure and therefor more flow. Either that or use a 2 inch pipe. Where it comes out the building i have it sticking out about 4 inches and a 45degree elbow directing down on it. 45 causes less air restriction that a 90 degree. IIf the pipe freezes, with forst inside, you dont have enough air flow. THe fan will collect a lot of dust . Even in winter. I made my back so it slides out so I can take the fan occasionally out to blow the dust out. I suppose a old paint brush might work as well right there in place. Really amazing how much dust there is in the winter on it. But then I use straw for bedding...
