How to wash a Polish chicken?

I guess this kind of applies to all breeds, but I have a silver-crested Polish hen who has a very dirty crown. It's been raining a lot here and her crown has never fully gotten cleaned. She is also getting picked on because of it.

Does anyone know the easiest way to clean her head? Or any chicken in general? Also what is the best way to wash them without them freaking out and getting water everywhere?

I’d wrap her in a towel this works for most animals , hold her firmly and either spray or dunk the feathers in room temp water and dish soap , rinse and dry.
