A friend of my husband has a daughter in high school and she did a senior project on a baby duck (no harm done). They had no use for her and asked me if i would re-home it ( i have ducks and chickens all ages) this duck likes to be around people so much she wont stop quacking like she is scared. i dont want her as a pet in my home but outside with the rest how and when do i get her used to being outside without me or my older daughter?

One problem you will face is that she sounds like an imprint. Imprints don't veiw them selves as ducks, but instead as people. They still have the flock instinct that will cause panic when sperated from their human "flock".
This is going to be pretty rough on your new ducky friend. It will probably take alot of time and patients. I recomend penning her with one other duck and keeping human contact until she is bonded with this other duck. that should make her transition MUCh easier, rather than just throwing her into a flock of strange creatures that she doesnt know how to socialize with. If this doesnt work as a last resort you could always find her a human family willing to keep her as a pet (of course they should have atleast on other pet duck so that she isnt lonley)
Good Luck

We raise goslings every yr and they imprint on us..the mommy and daddy r outside...so when they are old enough we slowly introduce them to each other and within a few days the babies are walking off with the real mom and dad hunting for the best grasses..the still follow us to this day, and when they are free ranging and they get to far away or head towards the rd. I just yell Daaaaiiissseyyyy....and they either fly back or waddle back as fast as they can...It is so cute!

can you introduce an adult duck to this duck to help with the transition? my baby chickens (my EE roo and his other 3) can they go together?

Yes they love friends, but if you are putting them in with chicks I would suggest watching them to make sure that no one would be to aggresive with anybody...or no one gets stomped....if they are 2 males they could have a scuffle for domanice but they will work it out quickly.. good luck
