You really only have one good spot... which is where the fan kit goes (I think). The blank spot on the underside of the lid... in the middle by the red vent hole.
It's pretty centered on the box which should give you even circulation. Point the fan downwards... and be sure to space it down off the lid a little so it can draw air in behind it and blow it down.
Just to be clear (not to offend/insult)... You are NOT cutting a hole in the lid to mount this fan. The fan is mounted inside the box. It just moves around the heated air in there. You will need a small hole to pass the wire through. Pass the wire through before you connect up the fan to the charger... so you only need a small hole big enough to slide the wire through.
