How was your day today?

Glad your arm is okay.

I get spray bottles of Spic and Span at $ 1.00 tree stores. It's my favorite product, use it on spills on the floor, & it immobilizes most insects pronto and to help it along I stomp on them. I only buy the green liquid ones. They had lavender once and tried it - it had an awful smell-never again.

When I hybridized house plants always used it when cleaning shelves.

My day was pretty good. I learned that after spending decades worrying that I would go into anaphylactic shock from a bee or wasp sting, that I have apparently, somehow, outgrown my childhood sensitivity.

I was pulling an egg out from behind a hay bale (Marietta's favorite place to lay) and thought I pricked my arm on a stick or something else sharp. I have seen wasps in the shed before but wasn't thinking about that -- until a bit later when my arm turned red and began swell, just like anybody else's!!

Some white vinegar, a baking soda paste and a little anti-itch cream, and I was fine!!

And, I cleaned up most of the mess left behind from the derecho that blew through here recently! Compared to others in Iowa, and those of you in the hurricane paths, I have nothing to complain about.

Hope everyone is safe and well!

@Callender Girl I'm so glad you're ok x

@drumstick diva, we always used Spic and Span back home; I can't imagine LAVENDER, though. Have to admit, I never thought about deploying it against insects. Sounds like when I had a basement apartment that was really attractive to centipedes; I used hairspray to stick their legs together long enough for me to beat them to death.

Today is just starting, but yesterday was a busy one. Because I hauled 40- and 50-pound bags of feed and water softener salt the day before, Friday my muscles let me know I'd overdone -- but, it had to be done: layer feed, all-flock and duck grower, along with goat minerals.

I had a friend from Wisconsin coming to visit so I finished cleaning my house (sometimes, I worry that if I wasn't having company, the house would descend into utter dirt and decay). I made a chicken and orzo dish in the slow cooker, and we watched a night's worth of TV.

Ordinary days are good ones. Today, it's only 59 degrees -- which means our oppressive heat has finally broken!!

Hope everyone else has a good day!

Feeling very frustrated today....
I had planned on buying a rabbit from a breeder in VA. She was going to have it shipped to me by a transporter. We've been in communication for months and I was basically told to just chill 'til September because the transport wasn't running until late september. Seems fine. My last communication was asking if they knew if there was a way to contact the person transporting outside of facebook, and if I could get pictures of the rabbit before I put a down a payment and they didn't answer. They mentioned medical reasons for forgetting to email people so I didn't think about it.

I was like ok, it's september, so I emailed asking for an update and reminded them of my questions and this was what I got back???

"A google search would have provided the information you needed. That rabbit is gone. Thank you."

That's it. Like... What??? Why did you spend the last like 2 months emailing and working with me if you were just going to sell the rabbit out from under me??? (Incidentally a google search of the transporter ONLY brings up their facebook page.)

I just don't get some people. I was happy to put down a deposit. I just wanted a picture first. I guess I'm glad I didn't put one down.... Who knows if I would have even gotten a rabbit at all?
