@TheEggCollecter , You cant imagine leaving NE, and I could not imagine leaving the Bay. I lived in Cleveland for 4 years and HATED the snow. It is a big deal breaker for me! haha.

I don't think I could ever get sick of snow XD
AhI have the same attitude in November then by March I'm ready to scream!![]()
Absolutely ready for spring. Not all of the snow has melted yet...I'm in Northwest Ohio a few miles from the lake. The wind was horrible all winter. Sadly I lost my old man rooster. He seemed slow before winter got bad...i almost knew he wouldn't make it to spring. Also, I lost two hens in the last few weeks. One never seemed to do well the whole winter and the other was eggbound. I tried everything I could do. She struggled for weeks and was hardly eating towards the end. They were all good chickens and I was grateful to have them as part of my flock.
So sorry about your losses. I myself had a few. Im beginning to see small signs of spring in massachusettes even though there is still a foot of gross and wet snow on the ground. Lol hopefully spring comes fast!
That cat actually tried to attack with me standing right there. But given all the eagles and other birds of prey, foxes, fishers, coyotes, wolves and other predators...and the crazy low (and long) winter temps I'm calling it a success and hoping I didn't just jinx myself. I was surprised at egg production too...reading had me prepared for little or no eggs. Looking forward to a good spring cleaning of the coop and building a run. They've been free range but the cat problem is bad. We don't have an ACO or governing body that will deal with it and the only one that will can't be done anonymously and these people are wackadoodle and unpredictable at best. The only other option is what they call the "three S" solution: shoot, shovel, & shut up. I'm not going that route for a variety of reasons and in no particular order. How WAS it, you ask? Past tense????? Still winter for me. Snow storm Sat through Sunday. I believe more snow due Tues night. Haven't checked past that. Still 2.5' of snow on the ground.
