How, When , and what to look for

Hackle feathers and saddle feathers are a dead giveaway. So is the crowing. At my house "If it crows it goes."
The hackle feathers are the ones on the neck and the saddle are the ones in front of the tail. Long ones means rooster.
Coloring in some breeds is different between hens and roos as well.
I am glad to hear you are careful with the homes they go to. For me it was hard to let mine go. I am in town and cannot have roosters.

Oh my goodness we went out and cleaned the coop and what did I find , A dirty husband and two eggs .

Thank you now I need to know what to keep looking for and when to collect eggs, and what to do with them lol

See those shiny, pointy feathers at the base of the tail, circled above? Those are called saddle feathers and only roosters get them. They start coming in at roughly 13 weeks of age.

All the birds in your first set of pics are roosters. HappyChooks went through your other pics, I don't disagree with anything there. You have lots and lots of roosters that I imagine are making life very unpleasant for those few hens. You need to get down to one rooster. Advertise them for meat, ask a small price if you want cause you do have feed, etc invested in them (I imagine a LOT of feed!) and don't be afraid to not sell to someone if they feel off to you.
