How / Where do you keep your bag of feed?

We've not needed to move up to metal cans. Have not had vermin chew our plastic totes yet. Been storing the feed outside next to coop for two years and we live beside a large river.

My metal cans are set on top of two stacked pallets so I don't have to bend over into them. I just tilt them over to me when the levels are low. We live on 10 acres in the middle of a 90 acre field that is FULL of varmints including rats and voles. They chew up everything that isn't metal. I had them eat through a big, heavy-duty ice chest that I was using for chick starter.

I put my bags inside metal trash cans elevated on pallets.

Oh and open a feed mill near me!!!!! I wish I had a feed mill.

The food gets stored in the bags, in a large, reinforced, plastic wheelie bin. When I need to open a new bag, I pour it into a plasti bucket with a sealable lid. It's easy to carry around that way, keeps it sealed for freshness and no rats have chewed through it as of yet (that said, I don't have rats in my garage - yet - and we managed to get the rats OUT of the stable - for now!).

I pour it into plastic 5 gallon buckets with lids. One will hold 25 pounds. They are stored on the back porch to keep the squirrels and rats out of them. So long as they are by the door, nothing messes with them. If I put it into a metal can it gets too buggy and I'll end up with 1/2 can of powder. When the time comes that I can't store it there any more I'll likely just drop the buckets into a metal can or bring them into the house.

I store mine in 45 gallon plastic trash cans.

i've just bought my first 40# bag of feed. i've put it in a plastic lock-down garbage can. it's still in the bag. haven't decided yet if i'll get rid of the bag or not. haven't seen what kind of rodent issue i'll have yet either. i try to be very careful transferring feed to the feeder to avoid giving rodents too much in the way of goodies.

I just have 2-6 50lb bags stacked up in the hall by the front door of our house. Scoop right out of them. No rodents other than pet ones in the house as long as I've been alive. (we do have feral cat patrols outside)

I pour mine into plastic bulk food bins. Feed - scratch - shell - grit all of those are stored in a deck box outside. the only problem i have had with rodents is when I had a bag of bird seed in there.
they chose the easy to get to seed over trying to chew threw the plastic bins.

We used forced air metal heating vents. My hubby made a storage bin with 4 sections by pop riveting them together. He took another section, cut it, and pop riveted it to the bottom. He then made a lid out of another piece complete with 2 handles on top. We pour the layer crumbles into 2 and the layer mash into 2. It holds 100 lbs of each feed. We then use the feed bags for garbage that we burn. We went the route we did because we had the supplies available and didn't have to buy anything. We would probably have rats again if they could get into the feed. We previously had them when we had a vet beside us because she left bags of old feed in the building when she moved out. When the feed was gone they came over to our house. We live in a very small town, so that vet building was only 10 feet away from my house.
