Get there early enough to take the dog for a walk to calm down.

Oh I can sympathize, except I have two dogs that do that! We're lucky though, we don't have to bring our dogs in anymore. The vet will come out here for a nominal fee and do all four animals (2 cats and 2 dogs). A lot of times he has to be in the area anyway. Otherwise, I've always heard the benadryl thing. We've never done it because quite frankly wrestling two dogs into the vehicle whether doped up or not is not the idea of fun around here.

doggy xanax. I don't know what I did wrong, but as soon as I grab my car keys off the hook, both dogs are scrambling to the door. They love a car ride.

I used to have an aussie who got horribly car sick, I always gave her 1/4 of a Dramamine about 30 minutes before we had to get in the car, she would just lay down and go to sleep, no barfing, no anxiety. Good luck!
