I am pretty new to the delight of keeping chickens. My first chicken showed up in my backyard about 6 months ago. She is a Rhode Island Red, we named her Ruby.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

(3) What breeds do you have?
The above mentioned RIR and 7 bantams. Japanese Black Tail, Sultan, Cochin,
Partridge, Blue Red Lace Wyandotte, and Serama.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I just love chickens, birds, animals. I recently was laid off and needed something to occupy my mind and time. This fit the bill. I've built a coup, a run and a tractor already.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening and fast cars.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a custom jeweler. My S.O., Christye and I have been together about 30 years. No children. We have a beautiful Italian Greyhound named Judah, a huge orange tabby named Danny, fish, and 4 or 20 outdoor cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
