My name is Emily and I adore all barn animals, especially chickens. I know the majority of people only think of them two ways for eggs or meat, but i found a third way of thinking of them and its wayyy more funner, they are my pets. I have four rhode island red hens and a male.

As of now, I'm learning as I spend time with them...I am excited in getting to know the rest of BYC members and hope in finding new breeds to add to my chicken family.

Welcome to BYC, Emily! You sound a lot like me... I love ALL farm animals, and think of none of them as just "eggs/milk machines"; they can make great pets and are awesome to learn about and observe. Rhode island reds are a fantastic breed, good choice! Did you hatch them out? Or did you get them from a feed store? Make sure to post tons of pictures on here, BYC members love to see chicken pictures!
