The Run is done. I think I used about 6 pounds of SS washers on this thing. Got a LOT of rain the last 2 days so I think we will wait a day or two before carrying out to the back yard to connect to the Coop.

Stinkin hens still have yet to go inside the actual upper Coop. Right now I'm trying to find something they love to eat that can be used a a treat to lure them. Tried some BOSS but they just flicked them around and didn't appear to actually eat them.

Lots of fireworks in our neighborhood tonight so I hope they do not freak out too much (wish they would go in the Coop as a "safe space").

Thanks for all the help and suggestions thus far.

Uuuummm. The chicken wire can be torn open by just about anything. Securing it with the screws and washers will not prevent that.
The screws and washers are generally used to secure 1/2" hardware cloth which cannot be torn open by just about anything.

Dobie, going to have to risk it for now as we're on a budget. Just couldn't afford the 1/2" mesh wire.

When you're able to get HW cloth, look at Amazon for pricing. Many of us haven't been able to come close to their price locally. Also, you might want to look around for a half joule solar energizer for cheap. A couple of hot wires around your base at 6" and 1' can give you another layer of protection. If memory serves, adding it to mine was about $120 and I have enough wire to probably last me a life time. But I got the smallest roll they sell.
