My hubby keeps bringing chicks home (I'm open to it)! 6 chicks moved in from TS 2 weeks ago, not positive how old they actually are. We lost one :( They're growing fast, hopping/flying out of their crate onto the ledge. Found some poop on the wall, how'd they do that? The brood is/ is in our powder room, heat lamp, large dog carrier with top and bottom that we switch back and forth to keep 'em clean. We've had chicks before and have an old Rooster we call Ralph remaining from our previous batch. For a while he was "the Rat B#*tard Rooster cuz he would chase and flog me. But he's gotten mellower with age. Not sure how many Roosters might be in this batch but I've seen them butt chests. Some are skittish when I try to hold them but there is at least one that lets me hold her and she's calm about it. I'd love to develop a bond with them.

Anyway, I'm looking for a great source of info that talks about raising chicks and all the 'stages' and what to do when. I'd like to be more knowledgeable about this batch and participate more with them and their care. Looking forward to you're advice and input. Thanks ya'all. :jumpy
