Howdy! I'm a first time backyard hobbyist with 16 chicks (for now), 1st beehive, and a plethora of foraged/propagated plants.

We have 7 breeds. Atleast we think we have 7. The breeder didn't mark/list the Easter Egger mix - unfortunately. So we're guessing until they get full grown and are easier to identify.

Our guesses thus far include: Rhode Island Reds, Golden Comets, Starlight Greens, Ameraucana, Black Sex Links, Rainbows, and Barred Rocks.

As of today, my fav thing about raising chicks has been watching them grow. Our oldest chicks almost have their wing and tail feathers already!

I'm an all around crafty person. Resin, balms, paint, besoms, foraging, etc. I'm currently teaching myself hand embroidery and crossstitch.

Our little family includes my Hubby, our 16 yr old Kiddo, Annabelle, Pebbles, Martin (all 3 rescued kitties), Tink (rescued doggie), and myself. I'm disabled now but worked at many jobs in the food service industry (an experience I think everyone should have), a distribution warehouse, and as a substitute/full-time teacher (which I miss deeply).

I found BYC when Googled about introducing chicks of different ages. I joined a few minutes
later after reading the patient and informative responses.

I am still learning but hope to one day be as helpful for others as some will be for me
. 😁
