Hi! Total newb here, but have looked on this site numerous times for chicken expertise.

Anywho, my question is this, does anyone know if:

1. This breed of chicken
2. Whether it's a roo or a hen?

I'm thinking that it's a Cochin and his feathering is different from my buff orpingtons and white buffs. So I'm guessing it's a roo? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My guess is ... a cockerel. I see red coming in the shoulders, and also see some saddle feathers.

Also, on breed..hmmm, not sure, could be a mix. Big chicken, does not look pure Brahma or Cochin to me, but, it is still young. If I were to guess one of those breeds, I would go with LF cochin, because of that pretty round tail coming in.

Not sure of breed, possibly Cochin, but that's definitely a little cockerel.
