Hi, just introducing myself, I'm Echo, just got my first chickens EVER

I'm from a big city and I'd never seen a live chicken before the day I bought mine. Four beautiful white rocks (1 rooster 3 hens). They're pets, never for meat since I'm allergic. I was so excited to hold a real live chicken I was hopping around all excited and totally freaked them out our first day together.

Poor babies. Lol, they're all snuggley lap chickens now (day 4) I spend every free second just being around them, (I leave my door open so they come in the kitchen to be by me sometimes too now!) So happy to add them to my family! Just wanted to share my story, thanks!

so glad you got some chickens they are wonderful. Especially when your feeling down they always seem to find a way to cheer u up.if it's just having a snuggle or just by watching them being silly. You have come to the right place of u ever need advice or just curious. Never think twice about posting on here no question is silly

I have White Plymouth Rock chickens. Oh my goodness they're SO FLUFFY *anyone seen Despicable Me* lol They came from what is probably a totally normal and perfectly fine situation (coop outside, small yard area, a couple turkey friends) and they are now probably the most pampered chickens in the country lol. My boy is Sebastian, and my girls are Viv, Bay, and Chi ( Johann Sebastian Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky)

Thanks y'all! Quick question, am I nuts for bringing my chickens and roo inside the house at night? I have a 10 foot fence around their coop and pen but I don't trust coyotes not to dig under it and make a buffet of my lil poof balls, so I made them a "bedroom" out of one of my bathrooms... Anyone else do this? Or am I gonna be a crazy chicken AND cat lady (I have 14 cats)
 
Wow you have ur hands full.! If I was aloud to bring my chicken into the house to sleep.... I would in a flash. But just imagine 3 chickens (buying some chicks next week and I haven't decided now many I want) with 3 children and a dog and a grumpy husband it would definitely be a mad house. I think it's a nice idea

I just couldn't stand it if something happened to my sweet little puff balls, cats or chickens! My ex and I still live together and are good friends, sometimes he gets grumpy with the chicken poop all over but only when it's raining and they've been in all day, I try to keep it as picked up as possible and I don't let them in any bedroom except the one they share with the cats but it still gets everywhere, I put old sheets down all over so I can just spray them off outside and throw em in the washer...I tried chicken diapers but they're more of a mess than if you didn't use em lol... the poor chickens just ended up with the oops all glued to their feathers in all had to get baths... which was fine for the girls but Sebastian somehow I managed two get the switch for the bubbles in the jacuzzi tub and then ran all over the house squawking loudly soggy, soapy and still not all the way clean that was a mess... so I gave up on the chicken diapers and now I just keep a box of rubber gloves in strategic locations so it's easy to grab one and throw the little poops into my compost bucket on the back deck... I have two toddlers also but they split time between my house and their dads, they love the chickens although I'm not sure if the chickens feel the same lol
