Looks like a great little quarantine coop-I wish I had something like that ...as it is, they have to go into the dog crate to get quarantined

With 40 acres, you'll be getting more. Wait and see. Next spring I bet we'll hear you're building a new, bigger coop

Let's not forget that would also make a lovely brooder coop in the warmer weather!!!! Think about using that hardware cloth; those chicks are tiny. But not for long!

Well I've finished the coop just in time to allow the rooster to move in. The hens have yet to be kicked out of the nest by their mother but this guy needed to get away as he and his brother were starting to resent each other. He still looks slightly beat up.

I still want to put up a bit more hardware cloth around a portion of the base that is currently covered by chicken wire.

here is a photo of the finished coop. After the birds are used to their new home they will be free ranging. A larger coop and run is still in the planning stages and should be completed sometime in the spring or summer, until then, this is it.
