Hi, my name is Jennifer and my husband Brent and I just bought 7 chickens 2 weeks ago. Four are barred rock and 3 are Sapphire Gems. We are brand new to chickens and farming. We have four dogs and we each have a boy that has previously flown the coop. We're in Arizona so we're hoping we can move the chicks outside in the next week or so. They're getting a lot of feathers.

Hello, and welcome! I'm here in AZ. also! Good luck with your flock! With this heat that we are getting now, if you move them outside, make sure that they don't run out of water for drinking, and that they have some shade to get out of the sun.

Welcome to BYC! Crazy to me you have to worry about temps being too hot, I have to worry they are still too cold and I'm in Virginia! Rollercoaster spring weather we're having!
