Howdy!

Hello! I’m totally new to this, so let’s give it a shot!
I own and love 4 hens and 3 ducks. My hens are all Rhode Island reds, just over a year old and are all happy and healthy. Recently, one of my hens, Oakley got attacked by a wild animal. Being the crazy chicken lady I am, I put her through surgery instead of euthanizomg her and she’s doing great! My hen’s names are Beanie, Myrdle, Oakley, and Rhody. Rhody is the biggest and most prefect looking hen, all dark brown with big a red wattles and comb. Beanie is smaller but pretty chubby, with a honey coloured tummy and red, shiny neck. Beanie alway loves treats, and will come when called if you’ve got a snack for her! Myrdle is the smallest, a dark brown colour like Rhody but with a very small comb. She’s the bottom of the pecking order but very sweet. Oakley is my girl, the former second biggest and first layer. She has a light chest and dark, slightly bald neck that’s still growing feathers back after her accident.
3 of my 4 ducks where a present for my oldest duck, Duck-duck (Who’s got an Instagram page! Check it out: duckduckmeltsmyheart or something like that). We got DD from a friend who’s sister hatched her in a kindergarten class. At her old home, DD’s only friend flew away, so she came to live with our hens for the winter. We just couldn’t let her go and she was lonely for duck friends, so we went to a breeder’s looking for 1 duckling and came home with 3: Aster the Apple yard, and Zephyr and Primrose the Cayugas. Now, they all live in a little duck house by the pond and get along quite well. I’m looking forwards to hatching some ducklings in the spring, once my drake matures and my girls start laying!
